*Blush*

Why do I like football? Since when have I turned into a fan who watches epl and turns to the sports section of Stars every day? My dad asked me if it was because of ming hong ’s influence. (yes mh ur obsession with man u is THAT well-known =P) My sis claimed that I am watching football because of the footballers; but later she apologised, telling me that ‘I am really sorry. It doesn’t mean that you are not a liverpool fan if you haven’t been supporting it since young. It doesn’t mean you cannot like steven gerrard though you don’t know everything about him. Just like I can still admire jay chou though I don’t know as much as jin yun does about him.’

So the truth is…..

Cup_1

Steven Gerrard-the guy who get me interested in football. The inspirational Liverpool captain. The man of the match in last season’s FA finals, whereby Liverpool lifted the FA Cup!!

Rafael B. should really let him play centre midfield, look at how he scored when he is in that position. They kept arguing that gerrard scored well in right position last season, but that is not the point.

Yeng_1*drool* so yeng. I first caught sight of him when I was coming down from my bedroom during study break in sem 2, and dad was watching the finals of FA Cup. It was that magical moment that I had to see- steven gerrard scoring the winning goal! Then the screen played back the important equaliser scored by none other than Gerrard himself.

I was like, ‘daddy who is that? who is that cute guy? so geng!’ then I found out he is steven gerrard, and he is the captain of liverpool!!

And since after that World Cup was on, I started watching the matches.well I did watch WC 4 years back then, but now I started to appreciate their skills, and most importantly, I knew how to watch out for offside traps (fine I know it is so ‘duh’ to you guys, last time dad and sis roughly told me but I didn’t get it). And I learnt about gambling from my die-hard-football-fan friends: asian handicap, fair game, give you how many balls etc… I lost my virgin bet of RM 10 in the japan vs australia..damn those aussie guys, so rough!! *oopz* then I stopped betting and just enjoyed the matches.

I followed the matches of france, england *blush*, brazil and germany especially. I watched some on spain *ah carsillas*, italy and argentina too. I supported either france or germany to get the cup, and I supported england to get into semi-finals which they failed. Frank Lampard failed miserably in his i-lost-count attempt in shooting. Crouch’s leg is useless, his head comes only come in handy at certain time and this still applies in liverpool matches (despite the fact that he scored in premiership, I still think so).

Besides gerrard, I look up to:

Terry

John Terry, england’s defender and chelsea captain!

Now, before you think that I have this thing for captains, let me fill you in. I noticed terry when he did a brilliant save in WC (I forgot against which country)- the ball was on the line in the goal when terry defended it with his head I think. Later, I found out that he is chelsea’s captain!

Joe_cole_1

Joe Cole- he was in the england squad and he is a chelsea player. I thought he was quite cute. NOthing much that he did leave me with an impact like gerrard and terry.

Ronaldo

Christiano Ronaldo- I know many people think he is lengchai but he doesn’t attract me in that sense. I am attracted to his character-his persistence and confidence.  Did you see how he run to tackle the opponent? I thought he looks like a horse, didn’t know he runs like a horse too. lol.

Bellamy

Craig Bellamy- not lengchai AT ALL but I am amazed at how he runs. He is short but he is the cili padi of liverpool.

Enough about footballers. There are some incidents lately that was a bit paiseh for me.

1. Just now, I went to lecture hall/audi (don’t know what they call it now) to talk to kai yee. She then asked me to stay on for her pathology class. Since I had to wait 2 hours for dad, I figured out why not I stayed on and see what medic students learn? The lecture was on Pancreatitis. So I was smsing my friends (so happy to offer words of encouragement to them when they needed them, all the best!!) while ‘listening to lectures.’ Then the friend called so I had to go out and talk to her since it was urgent, I was in the first few rows so I resorted to use the front exit.

However,I found out later from steph wong I stirred up some attention coz it took me a while to open the door. She said, ’so u are the girl who went out just now is it. The lecturer gave break after you went out. Some more you not from our intake.’ haha. I think sem 3 students have ME to thank for a ‘ breathing’ period in their otherwise tiring lecture.

2. I was at the cinema megamall on the last day of my exams with my friends when I saw this guy who seems familiar to me. I think I always see him around in uni, in fact, I think he is teik sheng’s friend. Since he was looking at me, and we were at a small distance only and I am a friendly girl at nature, I asked, ‘ you from IMU?’ and he was like ‘no’.

Crap. I was paiseh and I wondered if he heard me muttering sorry. but he really looks familiar to me ok!! Maybe he was in HELP. I don’t know la. But please people, do NOT think it is a PICK UP line coz the guy is not some hunk ok. He is tall, dark, no specs. Furthermore I am a girl who believes in elegant female practice (means girls shouldn’t be so initiative). Even if I had to come up with a pick-up line, I am MORE CREATIVE than ‘are u from imu?’ ok!! *sticking out tongue*
