Good Things are Worth The Wait
That is what I believe in. I have been shopping for a hand bag since last semester; for your info, the topshop hand bag that I always use was a gift from my friends back then in form 4. I still like that bag and will still use it but since it is denim material, I wanted to get a leather one for smart casual/formal use.
Fate always work on us in its most unexpected way. The more you are searching for something, the more you find yourself not getting it. Instead, when you are just casually looking about, you may bump into something that really caught your attention. That is my experience and sentiment so far, and it doesn’t only apply to my latest ‘joy-giver’-my new seed hand bag!!
The beige handbag looks really nice with the stiches on it. Thanks lindsey, for assuring me on my decision. She added that since it is BEIGE and not white, it won’t be easily dirtied as we may think. Of course I vow to take care it and protect it from being tarnished. I am yet to use it though. (sorry for the small pic)
I saw it in genting Padni Concept Store but I put it on hold as I didn’t want to be an impulsive shopper (though it cost RM 39-a value buy item). Last sat when I went to megamall, I saw the mng on sale =) but the bags are a bit too old for my age. Plus the one I kinda like (dark green colour) was RM 50, more expensive than the seed one. =) So when I finally walked in to seed, love at 2nd sight happened so I bought it (though I have not gotten my pay).
Sometimes the joy in shopping/learning/meeting the one is in the process and NOT the destination. I always like to try on clothes but the price will always stop be from buying. However, I will make a mental note to get back to the shop when there is a sale and if there indeed is a price reduction and my size is still available, then I will get it. If not, I take it as no fate. hehe. However, there are exceptions-those iteams that you really like at first sight.
That is why I said a BIG FAT NO to the starbucks girl when she offered to sell me her ‘$ bintang’ diary (refer to previous post on my impulsive craving of owning the limited edition diary). Yes, I may not be spending RM 180 in order to get it but then, the joy in collecting it has been robbed off me. When I spend Rm 10, I not only get a sticker, I also get to indulge in the coffee and the ‘$ bintang’ environment. And what makes the whole diary so precious in the end is the process of obtaining it.
Note: $ bintang is used because I do not want to infringe in copyright and I would like to protect the employees from being thought of badly by the employer. Anyway I didn’t say which outlet and the names so the possibility is really insignifant. =) But I just want to play safe.
Of course what is stopping me now is the date line. If you give me till next May for instance to collect 18 stickers, then it is really good. However, the date line now is 8th january, and I am not those who drink starbucks like how I drink water. I will consider trying my luck in getting it IF the GUY in ‘$ bintang’ let me hav 3 stickers upon my purchase of my fav, heavenly green tea frapuccino. I mean, I want my RM 13 drink be more worthy ma!!!
But LUCK was NOT at my side. The dudes who gave me 2 stickers that day wasn’t at the cashier place. Instead, the sneaky malay girl was there. That is why when the guy came out much late and saw me there, he just smiled. I mean, he can’t possibly say yes to me in front of his colleague!! Never mind, I shall try my luck some time then, since wen yuen will be paying me a visit here and we will most likely have lunch there. (coz there is only the cafeteria which sells quite-sucky-food-besides-hotdog-nuggets-and-kuih and ‘$ bintang’.)
So yes, unless you are such a sweet friend of mine cum ‘$ bintang’ lover that you wouldn’t mind helping me collect the stickers; adding the fact hope that the ‘$ bintang’ dudes will give me 3 stickers for ONE DRINK I buy, I am letting go of my impulsive urge to own that piece of limited edition diary. =)
I have been touched and have some deep thought after watching ‘Ima, Ai ni yukimasu’ (Now, I want to meet you) and recent encounter in life. Since I have blogged here, I shall be blogging that in my private blog ; so for those of you who have the privilege of going there, do drop by and share your thoughts with me =)
